How do I disable WordPress plugins via my cPanel? Print

Sometimes, you may need to disable a plugin in your WordPress hosting account but you cannot log in to the WordPress Dashboard. It is also possible to disable a WordPress plugin via your cPanel control panel. For instructions on how to do this, please see the following:

  1. First, log in to your cPanel
  2. Click File Manager
  3. Navigate to the public_html directory and then to the wp-content directory
  4. Right-click the plugins folder and click Rename
  5. Change the name of the plugins folder to disable all of the plugins for your site (rename back to plugins to re-enable all of your plugins again)
  6. You can also disable individual plugins, just click into the plugins folder
  7. You can then just rename each plugin one at a time (and just rename them back to re-enable them)

If you have any questions on the above, please do not hesitate to 'Open a Ticket' and we will be happy to advise further.
